I first discovered the huge benefits of using Virgin
Coconut Oil within my clinic and subsequently at home
within my family's diet and health needs. My biggest
problem now was trying to condense the massive indisputable
information I had gathered on this unique natural
product and condense it onto this web site.
I hope you find this site interesting and informative,
I have summarized most information but I have listed
links for further detailed information.
Research and clinical observation have shown that
medium-chain fatty acids, like those found in Virgin
Coconut Oil, may provide a wide range of health benefits.
Most of these benefits are summarized in the Health
Benefits page.
 I
use and recommend only "Tiana" virgin coconut
oil, this is after nearly six months of research on
most of the available VCO's out on the market, some
good and some really bad.
I wanted to make sure that if I am to put my name
to a product then it must be the "right"
one, and Tiana met all the requirements I looked for,
meeting ISO 9002 and HACCP quality control certification
and also meets the strict requirements for certification
for the Organic Farmers Growers and ECO/CERT.
I found so many products out there that claimed they
were organic/virgin/cold pressed but not certified,
certainly not with any known association, I found
products that tasted strange, strong or bleached/deodorised
without any taste at all, but none came close to the
quality/taste/pureness of Tiana, and none contained
the same high nutrient and anti oxidants and vitamins
as Tiana.
I love this product its great to use and work with,
I use this for all my needs either massage/diet/sport/nutritional.
What makes TIANA Organic Virgin Coconut

Its time to rethink
our diets in the Western world
Coconut
oil contains the most concentrated natural source
of MCFA available. Substituting coconut oil for other
vegetable oils in your diet will help promote weight
loss. The use of refined vegetable oil actually promotes
weight gain, not just from its calorie content, but
because of its harmful effects on the thyroid - the
gland that controls metabolism. Polyunsaturated vegetable
oils depress thyroid activity, thus lowering metabolic
rate - just the opposite of coconut oil. Eating polyunsaturated
oils, like soybean oil, will contribute more to weight
gain than any other fat known, even more than beef
tallow and lard. According to Ray Peat, Ph.D., an
endocrinologist who specializes in the study of hormones,
unsaturated oils block thyroid hormone secretion,
its movement in the circulation, and the response
of tissues to the hormone. When thyroid hormones are
deficient, metabolism becomes depressed. Polyunsaturated
oils are, in essence, high-fat fats which encourage
weight gain more than any other fats. If you wanted
to lose weight, you would be better off eating lard,
because lard doesn't interfere with thyroid function.
Diabetes and modern
diets
One of the many plagues of modern society is diabetes.
The incidence of diabetes has risen from almost nothing
a century ago to a level of major concern today. It
is now the sixth biggest killer in America. Diabetes
not only can cause death but can lead to kidney disease,
heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke, cataracts,
nerve damage, hearing loss, and blindness. It is estimated
that 45 percent of the population is at risk of developing
diabetes. Researchers discovered that over consumption
of refined vegetable oils is one of the main causes
of diabetes in particular Polyunsaturated fats which
decrease the ability for cells to bind to insulin,
over working the pancreas and liver trying to cope.
There is one fat that diabetics can eat without fear.
That fat is coconut oil. Not only does it not contribute
to diabetes, but it helps regulate blood sugar, thus
lessening the effects of the disease. The Nauru people
of South Pacific consumed large amounts of coconut
oil for generations without ever encountering diabetes,
but when they abandoned it for other western foods
and oils the results were disastrous.
Coconut oil puts less of a demand on the enzyme production
of the pancreas. This lessens the stress on the pancreas
during mealtime when insulin is produced most heavily,
thus allowing the organ to function more efficiently.
Coconut Oil also helps supply energy to cells because
it is easily absorbed without the need of enzymes
or insulin. It has been shown to improve insulin secretion
and utilisation of blood glucose. Coconut oil in the
diet enhances insulin action and improves binding
affinity compared to other oils.
